Woman attempts self-immolation

DIJKOT:

The Faisalabad city police officer (CPO) has sought a report about an incident in which a woman attempted self-immolation following the arrest of her husband and son. The CPO sought a detailed report regarding the matter from the SP of Iqbal Town.

The incident occurred during a protest at District Council Chowk, where Ramsha Bibi attempted to set herself on fire.

According to officials, her husband, Suhel, had 33 cases against him, including robbery, attempted murder, dacoity, and fraud. Her son, Wafa, was a proclaimed offender in a case of attempted murder registered at Batala Colony police station. Both had been arrested.

The police said teams were conducting raids to apprehend seven other accomplices of the arrested men.

The city police officer ordered an inquiry on merit into the incident.
