RAWALPINDI:

In a significant shift from conventional policing to smart security, Murree Police have launched a world-class "Safe Tourism App" aimed at ensuring the protection and convenience of visitors.

Murree District Police Officer (DPO), Dr Raza Tanveer, described the initiative as a landmark step towards modern, technology-driven public safety.

According to the DPO, the app places his office and all relevant administrative departments just a click away. Through the platform, tourists can gain instant access to the police, Rescue 1122, and traffic police services.

A dedicated "Virtual Women Police Station" has also been established within the app to enhance the protection and support of female visitors.

In addition, an artificial intelligence-powered live chatbot will provide round-the-clock guidance and assistance to tourists.

Dr Tanveer further stated that under the feature titled "Text to DPO", visitors will be able to send complaints directly to the Murree DPO via WhatsApp.
