Petrol price may rise by Rs5/litre

ISLAMABAD:

The government is preparing to place an additional burden on inflation-hit citizens, as a significant increase in petroleum product prices is expected from March 1.

According to government sources, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has completed its pricing calculations, and petroleum product prices are likely to rise by up to Rs6.88 per litre starting March 1.

Sources said the price of petrol is expected to increase by Rs4.58 per litre, while high-speed diesel may go up by Rs4.73 per litre.

They further stated that the price of kerosene oil is likely to increase by Rs6.88 per litre, and light diesel oil may see a rise of Rs5 per litre.
