ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad High Court has dismissed an intra-court appeal filed by the Vice Chancellor of Health Services Academy, Shehzad Ali Khan, seeking a fresh medical examination of a woman doctor who had allegedly accused him of assault after demanding marriage.

A division bench comprising Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro and Justice Muhammad Asif upheld the earlier decision, observing that minor injuries and scratches fade over time and forming a medical board after considerable delay would be a futile exercise.

The court ruled that a delayed examination would hold no legal or medical significance and declared the single bench's November 19, 2025 decision legally sound.

According to the court order, Dr Ayesha Khan alleged that Shehzad Ali Khan assaulted her after she demanded marriage. Following the alleged incident, her medico-legal examination was conducted at PIMS hospital.

The vice chancellor had termed the medico-legal certificate fake and tampered and requested formation of a medical board, which the single bench had rejected.

The division bench upheld that decision and dismissed Dr Shehzad's intra-court appeal.
