Cardi B has responded to reports claiming she damaged equipment backstage at Saturday Night Live during her January 31 appearance.

The Bronx rapper addressed the allegations on social media following a TMZ report that suggested she threw her phone at a monitor and struck a screen in a producer’s office.

The reports said the alleged disruption stemmed from a proposed joke for the show’s Weekend Update segment referencing Nicki Minaj’s support of Donald Trump. TMZ sources claimed Cardi B threatened not to perform, which led to the joke being removed from the broadcast.

On X, Cardi B posted a cryptic message stating, “Hmmm all these little random stories… [f**k] it, let them talk, let them eat cake, let them come to the ballllll,” seemingly dismissing the allegations. She also commented on the timing of the reports, referencing recent political tensions involving Trump associates.

Despite the claims, Cardi B completed her planned performances on the show, delivering “Bodega Baddie” and “ErrTime,” the latter featuring Dominican artist El Prodigio. Cardi highlighted on Instagram that the collaboration brought “real Dominican sound” and Bronx culture to the stage.

Cardi B and Nicki Minaj have a long history of public disputes, including a 2018 physical altercation and ongoing social media exchanges. Representatives for both Cardi B and Saturday Night Live have not responded to inquiries regarding the alleged incident.

The rapper is currently touring in support of her album Am I The Drama?, released in September 2025.
