Stardew Valley 1.7 update confirmed with new romance options Clint and Sandy
ConcernedApe confirms Stardew Valley 1.7 with new marriage candidates and added content

ConcernedApe has confirmed that a Stardew Valley 1.7 update is in development, revealing new content including additional marriage candidates and gameplay changes.
The announcement was first made during the Symphony of Seasons world tour event in Seattle on August 30 2025. ConcernedApe later wrote on X: “I revealed this at the concert last night and now the cat’s out of the bag. There will be a Stardew Valley 1.7 update. No release date, no estimate. But it’s happening.”
While no launch window has been provided, the developer has cautioned fans not to expect news imminently. In a follow-up post on September 22, he stated: “More will come,” but added he does not want “too much hype at this point. It’s going to be a while before the update is ready.”
Speaking to IGN on February 3 2026, ConcernedApe confirmed that two long-requested characters, Clint and Sandy, will become fully marriageable in version 1.7.
The reveal was reiterated during the game’s 10th anniversary livestream on February 26. Their addition will include new romance scenes, dialogue and related farm content.
Clint has appeared in the game as Pelican Town’s blacksmith since its 2016 launch, while Sandy manages the Oasis in the Calico Desert. Both have frequently featured in fan discussions about expanded romance options.
The update will also introduce a new farm type and changes to children. Addressing what he described as a “popular fan request,” ConcernedApe said he is “trying to make the children a little more interesting”.
ConcernedApe has said the update will not delay development of his upcoming project, Haunted Chocolatier. “My plan is that this will not hinder Haunted Chocolatier development,” he stated, explaining that he is delegating aspects of the update while continuing work on the new title.
