Gulghast police arrested an injured man following an encounter.
According to police details, the suspect was apprehended in an injured condition late at night while officers were patrolling Dinpur Square.
The police said two men were moving quickly toward Basti Nu. When officers signaled them to stop, one of the suspects opened fire. Constable Tanvir was hit, but he was wearing a bulletproof vest.
The police took cover and the firing continued for some time. After the shootout, the suspect was spotted with a gunshot wound on his hand.
