Prince Andrew police update confirms searches complete as misconduct investigation continues
Thames Valley Police confirm searches of Prince Andrew’s homes are complete

Thames Valley Police have issued their first official update following the arrest of former Prince Andrew last week, confirming that searches of his residences have been completed. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, 66, was arrested on February 19 under suspicion of misconduct in public office and was released later that day under investigation, BBC reported.
In a statement, the police confirmed, “Thames Valley Police can confirm the searches in Berkshire in connection to its investigation into the offence of misconduct in public office have now ended.” Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright added, “Officers have now left the location we have been searching in Berkshire. This concludes the search activity that commenced following our arrest of a man in his sixties from Norfolk on Thursday (19/2).”
Despite the conclusion of search activities, Wright emphasized that the investigation is ongoing. “We understand the significant public interest in this case and our investigation remains ongoing,” he said. Wright stressed the need for investigators to have the necessary time and space to continue their work, noting, “We will provide updates when it is appropriate to do so, but this is unlikely to be for some time.”
When Andrew was arrested, Thames Valley Police initially stated, “As part of the investigation, we have today (19/2) arrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office and are carrying out searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk.” The police also noted that the man remained in custody at the time and would not be named publicly in line with national guidance.
The investigation has been formally opened following a thorough assessment, according to Wright, who said, “It is important that we protect the integrity and objectivity of our investigation as we work with our partners to investigate this alleged offence.” Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing throughout the process.
