Paddington makes memorable debut on BAFTAs 2026 stage

Paddington Bear made a surprise and historic appearance at the 2026 British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTAs), taking the stage to present the Children’s & Family Film award and instantly winning over the audience.

He quipped about facing fears, thanked his fictional family for the encouragement and even joked about leaving marmalade on the award stage, marking what he described as the first time a bear has presented a BAFTA.

The award in the category ultimately went to Boong, while other nominees included major family-focused films competing for the honor.
