Senate session kicks off today

President Asif Ali Zardari granted approval for convening a Senate session on February 23 (today), the President Secretariat Media Wing said in a press release on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the upper house issued a 41-point agenda for the session, featuring the introduction of five new bills and the passage of three laws.
According to the agenda, standing committees will also present reports on nine bills before the house, while three bills are set to be withdrawn by their respective movers.
Among the key legislative items, the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) Amendment Bill 2026 will be introduced in the Senate. The Islamabad Real Estate Regulation and Development Amendment Bill 2026 is also included in the agenda.
