KARACHI:

Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Chief Monem Zafar Khan has expressed deep concern over daily traffic gridlock across the city's main arteries - particularly during Ramazan - terming it a product of "criminal negligence and incompetence" by the Sindh government and relevant authorities.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Monem said hours-long traffic jams had become routine, causing severe mental and physical stress for millions of residents. "There is no one to listen to the citizens. The blessed month of Ramazan has been turned into a burden for the public," he remarked.

He pointed to crumbling infrastructure, broken roads and incomplete development projects as key contributors to the worsening situation. According to him, government-backed encroachments, deteriorating road conditions and prolonged construction works have severely disrupted traffic flow across nearly every major road in Karachi.
