A TikTok video accusing Beyoncé of firing a longtime stage and production manager after a serious health issue has ignited debate online.

The woman, who posts under the handle @mairicool, alleged that her father, Terry Cooley, worked closely with the global pop star for more than two decades before being let go after collapsing and undergoing surgery. According to her account, he had been part of Beyoncé’s touring operation since the days of Destiny’s Child and continued through her solo superstardom.

In the video, she claimed her father worked gruelling 22 hour days while on tour and dedicated much of his life to supporting the singer’s live productions. She said that after his health declined and he required surgery, he was dismissed because he could no longer keep up with the pace of touring. The video is now unavailable.

She further alleged that he did not receive severance pay and that pandemic disruptions left him with inconsistent income when tours were halted. The family was eventually forced to sell their home, she said, adding that her father is now struggling financially and emotionally.

Beyoncé, one of the best selling artists in history, most recently completed her Cowboy Carter tour and has not publicly addressed the allegations. Her representatives have reportedly been contacted for comment.

The claims remain unverified, and no formal complaint has been made public. Still, the viral video has reopened conversations about labour conditions in the music industry, particularly for long serving crew members who operate behind the spotlight.

For now, attention remains fixed on whether Beyoncé or her team will respond as online discussion continues to intensify.
