Trump accuses Obama of revealing ‘classified’ alien information, orders release of UFO files
Tensions rose after Barack Obama’s alien remarks, prompting a response from Donald Trump

US President Donald Trump has accused former President Barack Obama of improperly disclosing “classified information” after Obama said during a recent podcast interview that aliens “are real.”
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump claimed Obama “made a big mistake” by commenting on extraterrestrial life, though he did not specify what classified material he believes was revealed. Trump added that he may consider declassifying related information.
Obama’s remarks came during a conversation with podcast host Brian Tyler Cohen, where he said that while the universe is vast and the statistical odds favor life elsewhere, he saw no evidence during his presidency that extraterrestrials had visited Earth. He also dismissed conspiracy theories about secret alien facilities, including those tied to Area 51.
Amid renewed public interest, Trump said he is directing the United States Department of Defense and other agencies to begin identifying and releasing government files related to unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) and UFOs.
A 2024 Pentagon review previously found no evidence that reported UFO sightings involved alien technology, attributing most incidents to balloons, drones, or other conventional objects.
