CM orders strict Ramazan security

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered stricter security arrangements across the province during Ramazan.

According to a statement, she ordered foolproof security at mosques, imambargahs and other places of worship along with the deployment of additional personnel at markets and other public places.

The chief minister instructed officials concerned to ensure the installation and monitoring of CCTV cameras, walkthrough gates and searchlights.

She called for intensified police patrolling, snap checking and search operations around the places of worship.

Authorities were directed to implement a three-layer security plan for Friday and Taraweeh congregations at sensitive locations along with the placement of barriers and barbed wire where necessary.

The chief minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to public safety during the holy month.
