Cheating residents: Housing society developers arrested

Mustafa Town police on Friday arrested the owner of Azam Garden Housing Scheme and registered an FIR against him on the complaint of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) for not laying sewerage in the scheme.


The complaint was filed under Sections 420, 290, 270, 269, 291 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Hafiz Abdul Waheed was arrested on Friday morning on charges of cheating the residents out of their deposits for the plots in the society.

According to the LDA complaint, the scheme, located on Multan Road near Mansoora, on 734 kanals and 17 marlas of land, was approved by the LDA on September 30, 1985. However, the sponsors of the scheme, Hafiz Abdul Hameed and Hafiz Abdul Waheed, residents of Cantonment and Model Town respectively did not make a proper arrangement for drainage of rain water.

3: Failed to provide proper water supply and sewerage

4: Had created and sold plots on the land reserved for community graveyard and 5: Constructed a site office on the land reserved for a public building.
