Kyedae and TenZ reject false narratives around split, after six-year relationship

Streamers Kyedae and TenZ have confirmed they have ended their relationship, addressing the split publicly and urging fans to stop spreading speculation online.

Kyedae shared a statement on 8 February explaining that the pair had been separated for some time and that the decision was mutual. “We’ve actually been broken up for quite some time now,” she wrote.

“Toward the end of our relationship, we came to a realization that wasn’t easy to accept. We had stopped growing as individuals.”

She said much of their six-year relationship was spent doing nearly everything together, from work to hobbies, and that they moved in together weeks after first meeting. From the ages of 17 to 24, she explained, their lives were closely intertwined.

According to Kyedae, there was no single incident behind the split. “We know the internet often looks for ‘the tea’ but the truth is simple. We grew apart. There was no wrongdoing, no resentment, and no single event that caused this,” she said.

TenZ later responded to online discussion, saying he had seen posts that were creating “false narratives and spreading unnecessary hate”. He wrote: “We parted on completely mutual terms, and we still care deeply about each other.”

He also addressed claims that Kyedae influenced his decision to step away from professional Valorant. “I also quit playing pro of my own accord and was never influenced by her to quit,” he said, adding that goals can change over time.

Content creator John Choi also denied rumours linking him to Kyedae, stating: “No, I am not dating Kyedae and I have never hung out with her outside of a group setting.”

Both streamers have asked for privacy and understanding following the announcement.
