Prince William and Princess Catherine express deep concern over new Epstein revelations
Kensington Palace statement says royal couple focused on victims as scrutiny grows over Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor

Prince William and Princess Catherine have expressed that they are “deeply concerned” following the latest developments related to Jeffrey Epstein, marking their first public remarks on the matter.
In a statement issued by a Kensington Palace spokesperson, the Prince and Princess of Wales said they were troubled by ongoing revelations contained in newly released US court documents connected to the late convicted sex offender. “I can confirm The Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations. Their thoughts remain focused on the victims,” the spokesperson said.
Although the brief statement did not specifically mention Epstein, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, or his former wife Sarah Ferguson, it comes amid renewed scrutiny of the Royal Family after additional allegations linked to Andrew surfaced. The timing is notable, as Prince William prepares for an official visit to Saudi Arabia, a trip considered diplomatically important.
Royal sources indicated that the statement was intended to acknowledge the seriousness of the situation and to emphasise concern for victims, while also allowing attention to shift toward William’s overseas engagement. However, it is not expected to end questions about how the Royal Family has addressed the controversy surrounding Andrew.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor had maintained a long-standing association with Epstein, including contact after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for a child sex offence. He has previously apologised for his connection to Epstein but has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
Senior members of the Royal Family have largely avoided direct public comment on the allegations in recent years. King Charles most recently referenced Epstein’s victims in October when he removed Andrew’s royal titles. Prince Edward also mentioned victims last week when questioned about the issue during a government conference in Dubai.
Recent reports state that Andrew vacated his residence at Royal Lodge in Windsor earlier than previously planned. Buckingham Palace had earlier announced he would leave in early 2026, but he has now relocated to accommodation on King Charles’s privately owned Sandringham Estate.
Ongoing disclosures in the United States have intensified pressure on Andrew, with some calling for him to provide evidence to an American inquiry.
