Agricultural industry: Sindh government to set up food processing units

The government will take steps to set up agro-based industries in rural areas of Sindh to boost agricultural production, said Mohammad Ayaz Soomro, the provincial minister for law and industries, in a departmental meeting on Friday.


It was decided that tomato processing and packaging units will be set up at Dhamrah and Mahota villages in the Larkana district and guava processing and packaging units will be established in Naudero.  The meeting also decided that small industrial states on an area of 50 acres will be established on Baqarani Road in Larkana, and more will be set up in Naudero, Ratodero and Garhi Yaseen, but on an area of 100 acres. In Kambar, a cardboard industry will be established. Soomro said that those investors who were given plots but did not set up factories will be issued notices.
