Federal education institutions promote cycling, distribute 300 bicycles

Initiative aims to boost student health and promote eco-friendly transport

Federal government educational institutions have launched a cycling initiative after distributing 300 bicycles among students, aiming to promote healthy lifestyles and environmentally friendly transport.

Officials said the programme is designed to improve students’ physical fitness while encouraging greater participation in sports and other positive activities.

The Pakistan Sports Board will oversee the initiative, while the Islamabad Cycling Association will be responsible for its implementation in schools.

Separately, the Pakistan Tourism, Sports & Family Festival 2026 concluded on a high note at the Pakistan Sports Complex on Sunday, with strong public participation in sporting events.

The second day of the festival featured a range of activities, including a fun run marathon and a four-kilometre cycling race, which emerged as the main attractions and drew participants from all walks of life.

Both events were keenly enjoyed by the public, with cash prizes of Rs10,000 awarded to winners, highlighting efforts to promote healthy living and community engagement through sport.
