Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb on Tuesday met German Ambassador Ina Lepel to review Pakistan-Germany economic relations, with talks focusing on trade, investment and ongoing reform measures.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, the meeting at the Finance Division underscored the importance of sustained engagement to strengthen bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and development. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to promoting a stable, transparent and predictable business environment to support long-term economic growth.

The finance minister outlined the government's economic outlook and reform priorities, stressing macroeconomic stability, fiscal sustainability and competitiveness-led growth. He briefed the ambassador on efforts to support economic recovery, strengthen export capacity and improve resilience against external shocks, while maintaining momentum on structural reforms aimed at inclusive and durable development.

Discussions also covered the government's revenue and taxation reform agenda, with emphasis on broadening the tax base, improving compliance and enhancing efficiency through technology and data-driven processes. Aurangzeb said the reforms were intended to promote fairness, reduce distortions and create a level playing field, while encouraging investment and economic activity.
