Railways launches one-window business centre
Aims to streamline freight, logistics and speed up commercial decisions

Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Monday inaugurated a Business Facilitation Centre at Pakistan Railways Headquarters in Lahore, aimed at improving freight, logistics and commercial operations through a one-window facilitation mechanism.
According to an official statement, the minister said the centre had been established to ensure faster decision-making, greater convenience and enhanced transparency for investors and business entities engaging with Pakistan Railways. He said the initiative was designed to provide prompt guidance and swift handling of commercial matters related to freight, logistics and partnerships.
Abbasi said individuals and organisations conducting business with Pakistan Railways would be treated as business partners rather than clients. He added that visitors to the Business Facilitation Centre would be received without delay and assisted by a designated officer to avoid waiting time.
The minister said the centre would function as a central point of contact for commercial engagement, freight operations and logistics-related coordination. He described the initiative as part of efforts to modernise business practices within Pakistan Railways and improve transparency in commercial decision-making. Abbasi said the establishment of the centre was expected to contribute to increased revenue generation and strengthen private sector confidence in Pakistan Railways' commercial operations.
Reaffirming the government's position, he said Pakistan Railways would continue to pursue reforms aimed at making the organisation financially sustainable and more responsive to business and investment requirements.
