More than 70,000 litres of milk entering Lahore were tested during inspections, of which 8,000 litres were found adulterated and disposed of.
In Muzaffargarh, inspection teams removed over 2,000 litres of substandard milk from the supply chain, while checkpoint operations in Rawalpindi led to the destruction of 3,500 litres of unsafe milk.
In a separate large-scale operation in Lahore, authorities inspected 60 vehicles and destroyed 35,000 litres of adulterated milk.
The Pakistan Dairy Association (PDA) termed the Safe Milk Campaign a significant step toward ensuring hygienic and nutritious milk for citizens.
PDA CEO Dr Shehzad Amin appreciated the leadership of PFA Director Muhammad Asim Javaid and Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz for prioritising milk safety and public health reforms.
Dr Amin said the campaign reflected a strong commitment to strengthening food safety systems, reducing malnutrition and protecting public health.
The association also welcomed the expansion of the Chief Minister’s School Nutrition Programme to 11 districts, calling it a key initiative to improve child health and learning outcomes.
Reaffirming support for regulatory enforcement and dairy sector formalisation, the PDA said such measures were essential to ensuring safe and affordable milk for households across Punjab.
