Prince Harry and Meghan Markle make surprise appearance at Sundance Film Festival
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appeared at Sundance as Harry’s recent court testimony continues to draw attention

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a rare public appearance at the Sundance Film Festival on Saturday, January 24, attending the premiere of their latest documentary project, Cookie Queens, in Park City, Utah.
The outing comes just days after Harry’s highly publicized appearance in a London courtroom, where his testimony has fueled renewed attention on his ongoing legal battle with the British press.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex served as executive producers on Cookie Queens, a documentary that follows four Girl Scouts during the annual cookie-selling season. The film premiered as part of the Sundance lineup, with the couple posing for photos alongside actress Amy Redford, festival director Eugene Hernandez, and director Alysa Nahmias ahead of the screening.
Harry, 41, opted for a casual look, wearing a puffer jacket, green pants and brown boots, while Meghan, 44, appeared in a black knit sweater and black flared denim jeans. During the event, Meghan spent time greeting the Girl Scouts featured in the film, chatting with them and their families and sharing hugs with the young participants.
The documentary holds personal significance for Meghan Markle, who was a Girl Scout growing up in California. Her mother, Doria Ragland, previously served as her troop leader, making the project a meaningful return to an experience that shaped her childhood.
The Sundance appearance follows Prince Harry’s recent testimony in London’s High Court as part of his privacy lawsuit against Associated Newspapers, the publisher of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday. During his testimony, Harry criticized media intrusion, stating that journalists treated his life as “open season” for commercialization.
As legal proceedings continue, the couple’s presence at Sundance underscores their ongoing involvement in film and documentary storytelling, even amid heightened scrutiny surrounding royal family tensions and courtroom developments.
