Chris Noth has opened up about the end of his long-standing friendship with Sex and the City co-star Sarah Jessica Parker, describing the fallout as painful and unexpected following the sexual assault allegations made against him in 2021.

In an upcoming appearance on Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson, the 71-year-old actor said he and Parker are no longer in contact, a shift he directly attributes to how she publicly responded when allegations against him surfaced. Noth said the situation made it clear that their relationship had changed permanently.

According to Noth, Parker’s decision to issue a joint statement with Sex and the City castmates Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, expressing support for the women who accused him, was particularly difficult to process.

While he acknowledged the pressures of Hollywood and public scrutiny, he said he was hurt that Parker did not reach out to him privately before making the statement.

Noth explained that the lack of direct communication was what affected him most, noting that they had worked together for many years and shared a close professional bond. He said he believed a conversation could have taken place before such a public stance was made, adding that he found the moment disappointing and surprising.

Reflecting on the aftermath, Noth said the experience clarified who remained in his life during a challenging period. While he admitted the situation came with personal losses, he also suggested it revealed uncomfortable truths about loyalty and friendship in the entertainment industry.

The actor has consistently denied all allegations made against him, previously calling them fabricated and maintaining that he would never engage in non-consensual behavior. Despite his denials, the controversy led to his removal from the Sex and the City revival series And Just Like That…, where his character, Mr. Big, was written out early in the show.

Noth concluded that the breakdown of his friendship with Parker was one of the most painful consequences of the situation, saying it “affected everything” and left a lasting emotional impact.
