PESHAWAR:

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially commenced preparations for the up-coming local government elections in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, announcing a detailed schedule for new constitu-ency delimitations.

According to an ECP notification, the schedule covers all village and neighborhood councils across 24 districts, including Nowshera, Charsadda, Mohmand, Mardan, Swabi, Kohat, Orakzai, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, North Wa-ziristan, Tank, Abbottabad, Haripur, Battagram, Torghar, Upper Kohistan, Lower Kohistan, Kolai-Palas, Swat, Bunir, Lower Chitral, Lower Dir, and Upper Dir.

Under the plan, all administrative arrangements are to be completed between January 19 and February 2. From February 3 to March 4, delimitation committees will prepare preliminary lists for the village and neighborhood councils.

These initial lists are scheduled to be published on March 5, after which residents will have the oppor-tunity to submit objections to delimitation authorities from March 6 to March 25.

All objections will be addressed by April 8, with final lists of constituencies set to be officially released on April 20.
