JST marks GM Syed's 122nd birth anniversary
.

The factions of Jeay Sindh Tehreek celebrated 122nd birth anniversary of late G M Syed, the nonpareil nationalist leader who set the foundation of the nationalist movement, in Sann town, Jamshoro district on Saturday. Thousands of workers of dozens of factions of JST flocked to the town, complaining that the police not only obstructed them en route to the town but also dozens of workers and leaders were detained.
Addressing the separate public meetings, the nationalist leaders reiterated their resolve to continue struggle for Sindh's rights and to prevent the native population from becoming a minority in their own land. Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz's leader Dr Niaz Kalani blamed the state and the Sindh police for making all possible efforts to prevent the nationalist workers from marking the day.
He credited Syed for spearheading the Sindh Assembly's resolution for creation of Pakistan as a separate country for Muslims of the subcontinent. However, he deplored, that his late leader had not expected that the constituent units of Pakistan will be deprived of their rights while facing the state's alleged injustices.
