Pet dog mauls pedestrian woman, college guard

HYDERABAD:

The pet dog of a transport company owner, Sufiyan, attacked a passerby woman near Kohsar Degree College, leaving her badly injured. The college's security guard, who rushed to rescue her, was also mauled and sustained serious injuries.

The incident occurred near the main gate of Government Boys Degree College, Kohsar Phase-II, within the jurisdiction of Airport Police Check Post. Witnesses said the woman was walking with her daughter past a bungalow when the dog suddenly emerged and attacked her. Hearing her screams, college guard Yousuf intervened but was bitten and knocked to the ground, suffering a hip fracture.

Both victims were first taken to Civil Hospital Hyderabad, from where Yousuf was shifted to a private orthopedic facility in Hirabad. The attack sparked outrage among local residents, who identified the dog's owner as a man named Sufiyan.
