RAWALPINDI:

A case has been registered against the employer of a 13-year-old domestic worker who was allegedly raped in the Sadiqabad area of Rawalpindi police station. The girl reportedly became pregnant after being raped.

According to the police, Ghulam Fatima, a resident of Faisalabad, introduced herself as the victim's caretaker, and said that she had been supporting 13-year-old Aziza for seven years following the death of her father and her mother's second marriage. She said that Aziza had been sent to work for Sunila Adeel, who promised her better education and training and a monthly stipend of Rs6,000.

As per the police statement, Aziza had been living with Sunila for five years, during which Ghulam Fatima would talk to her on call. However, after some time passed and when she was unable to talk to her, Ghulam Fatima visited Sunila's place on December 15 to meet Aziza, but Sunila did not let her meet the girl until sometime later.

Afterwards, Ghulam Fatima took Aziza back to their village where following tests, she found out that she was pregnant. This is when Aziza told her that Sunila's husband, Adeel, had been giving her sleeping pills and raping her. She reported that he had raped her even a month ago and that he would also threaten and beat her.
