Megyn Kelly slams Amy Poehler after Golden Globes best podcast win
"Amy Poehler won. That’s no shock, they gave it to one of their own," Kelly said sarcastically

Conservative media personality Megyn Kelly criticised Amy Poehler’s win in the newly established Best Podcast category at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards, calling the outcome “embarrassing and disrespectful” and questioning the significance of the honor.
Poehler’s Good Hang with Amy Poehler took home the inaugural Golden Globe for Best Podcast at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards, a category introduced to recognise the growing influence of podcasting in entertainment. The show beat out several popular contenders, including Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Call Her Daddy, SmartLess, The Mel Robbins Podcast and Up First from NPR.
During a fiery segment on her digital talk show, The Megyn Kelly Show, Kelly blasted the podcast category itself and Poehler’s win despite admitting she did not watch the ceremony.
She suggested that the Golden Globes gave the award to “one of their own,” implying that Poehler’s industry status played a role in the outcome. “Amy Poehler won. That’s no shock, they gave it to one of their own,” Kelly said sarcastically, before criticising the content of the show.
Kelly also zeroed in on a specific interview from Poehler’s podcast, in which Poehler incorrectly referenced actress Gwyneth Paltrow’s filmography. “Amy Poehler thought Gwyneth Paltrow was in Cold Mountain, which she wasn’t,” Kelly said, calling the moment “embarrassing and disrespectful,” and arguing it undermined the credibility of the podcast as an award-winning program.
In addition to her critique of Poehler’s podcast, Kelly revisited her own relationship with the category, claiming her show had been in contention for the award but that she withdrew because she objected to the process.
She said she did not want to participate in behind-the-scenes campaigning or promotional efforts allegedly expected of nominees, describing that expectation as “a nightmare” and expressing disdain for awards-show culture.
Kelly’s comments were part of a broader tirade that also took aim at other aspects of the Golden Globes, including certain jokes made during the ceremony and the acceptance speeches of other figures.
Poehler, meanwhile, addressed the significance of her win during her acceptance speech, expressing respect for the medium and her fellow nominees, and framing the show as an effort to bring “love and laughter” into the world.
