PTA chairman appointment: IHC takes up ICA today

ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear an intra-court appeal (ICA) on Tuesday (today) against the decision of single member bench where the appointment of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) chairman was declared illegal.

A division bench comprising Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro and Justice Muhammad Asif will hear the case. The court had previously suspended the single-bench decision and reinstated the PTA chairman in office. A single bench of Justice Babar Sattar had declared the appointment of the PTA chairman illegal. PTA Chairman Maj Gen (retd) Hafeezur Rehman had challenged the single bench decision. app
