RAWALPINDI:

In two separate incidents of violence, one woman was killed while protecting her younger son during a family dispute, and in another case, a brother-in-law shot dead a man and injured another after being confronted for assaulting his sister.

According to police, in the Harnal area, 50-year-old Imran had an argument with his younger brother Rustam. During the dispute, Imran aimed a pistol at his younger brother. Their mother intervened to stop the elder son from firing, but she was hit by the gunfire, suffered severe injuries, and later died from her wounds. The suspect fled the scene, and police are conducting raids to apprehend him.

In a separate incident reported to Warish Khan Police Station, Muhammad Isa said that he, along with his brother Muhammad Usman, 25, and cousin Muhammad Shoaib, was at their shop, Sarhad Chicken Shop on Zafarul Haq Road, when the brother-in-law Azizullah, armed with a pistol, arrived with several unidentified men carrying knives, including Munir Khan, Hayat Khan, Mursaleen Khan and Fazal Elahi.

According to the victim, Azizullah began verbally abusing them. When Usman tried to intervene, Munir Khan stabbed Usman in the back, and the others also attacked with knives. While attempting to defend his brother, Muhammad Isa was stabbed in the left side. During the attack, Azizullah fired a shot at Usman, hitting him in the head. Usman died from his injuries, while Isa sustained serious wounds. Azizullah and the others fled the scene, issuing threats.

The motive appears to be family-related, as Azizullah is the victim's brother-in-law and had reportedly been abusing his sister. Police have registered cases and begun investigations.
