Kailash Kohli's murder: landlord produced in court

The prime accused and a taxi driver arrested for allegedly facilitating the crime were produced before a court on Friday in connection with the murder of a hari, Kailash Kolhi. The court remanded both suspects into police custody for three days for further investigation.

Kailash Kolhi, a farm labourer, was brutally murdered on January 4 following a dispute over the construction of a hut in Daho Kolhi village of Pero Lashari area, which falls within the jurisdiction of Talhar police station near Badin. The murder was allegedly committed by landlord Sarfraz Nizamani.

The brazen act of homicide sparked public outrage and a two-day long sit-in on the highway forcing the authorities to act against the influential landlord.

Talhar police presented the prime accused, Sarfraz Nizamani, along with taxi driver Zafarullah Khan-arrested on charges of facilitating the crime-before the court of Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate Badin, Mir Sikandar Ali Talpur, seeking their physical remand.

The investigating officer requested physical remand to recover the weapon used in the crime and to carry out further investigation.
