Ex-husband on the run after woman freed from chains

Police found Fatima with chains around her neck, hands, and feet, victim revealed she was lured by former husband

KARACHI:

Police rescued a woman who was illegally confined in chains inside a flat in DHA Phase V, following a tip-off from neighbours.

SHO Darakhshan Riaz said that the flat's door was locked from the inside. With neighbours present, police forced entry and found the woman, identified as Fatima, bound with chains around her neck, hands, and feet. The victim revealed that she is a resident of Shireen Jinnah Colony and was lured to the flat by her former husband, Latif, under the pretext of discussing their children's expenses.

Upon her arrival around 9am, Latif, along with an accomplice named Amaan, allegedly confined her in a bedroom and chained her.

Police have registered a case and begun a search for the suspects.
