Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah directed timely completion of all key development projects in the province, maintain quality standards without compromise, and strengthen monitoring, stressing that these projects are essential for food security and economic stability.

The chief minister gave these directives during a high-level meeting he chaired to take a detailed stock of ongoing development projects in the province. The meeting termed irrigation system and agricultural development vital for the provincial economy.

CM Shah said a strong irrigation system was the foundation of Sindh's agricultural success. He said modernising irrigation infrastructure and making it resilient to climate challenges was essential to achieve food self-sufficiency and boost exports.

Minister Shoro briefed the chief minister on ongoing and upcoming projects at Sukkur Barrage, including a major plan to replace 27 gates during the canal closure period.

Work on 25 gates has already begun, while the chief minister directed that the replacement of all 27 gates be completed within the stipulated timeframe. He warned that any delay could severely affect food security and water availability.
