Hamid Khan group clinches victory in LBA polls

LAHORE:

Advocate Irfan Hayat Bajwa of the Professional Group has been elected President of the Lahore Bar Association (LBA), securing 3,559 votes in the annual elections.

Supporters of the winning team celebrated jubilantly outside the court premises, raising slogans, beating drums, and garlanding the victorious candidates.

Out of 15,851 registered voters, 6,915 lawyers cast their votes.

Independent Group candidate Adeeb Aslam Bhunder came second with 3,154 votes.

Addressing the media after his victory, President-elect Irfan Hayat Bajwa pledged to uphold the supremacy of the Constitution and strengthen the rule of law.

In other key results, Mian Tahir Munir and Humayun Zaheer Bhatti won two general Vice President seats, Zahid Mehmood Gul was elected Vice President on the Cantt seat, and Asif Kanwal Khan secured the Model Town seat.
