Annual bar elections result announced

Results of the Rawalpindi District Bar Association annual elections have been announced, with Tariq Mahmood Sajid Awan of the People's Party winning the presidency seat and Qamar ul Haq Khan Niazi of the PTI winning the Secretary General seat.
The Vice Presidency seat was won by Shazia Yasmin Hashmi and Ahsan Saleem Sheikh won the joint secretary seat. The positions of Library Secretary, Auditor, and Executive Body members had already been won unopposed
Celebrations and prayers of thanks followed the announcement as lawyers lifted the newly elected President and Secretary General Qamar ul Haq Niazi on their shoulders and sweets were distributed amidst loud sloganeering. Dancing and bhangra alongside the sound of drums brought the street to life.
A total of 4,859 voters were registered for the elections.
