Drug trafficking bid foiled

ATTOCK:

Police on Friday foiled an inter-provincial drug smuggling attempt by seizing 12 kilogrammes of hashish concealed in packets of cat food and arresting a suspected trafficker.

According to police sources, the operation was carried out during routine checking near Search Park in Attock Khurd, within the jurisdiction of Hazro tehsil.

A Hiace van was intercepted, and upon searching the luggage of a suspicious passenger, police discovered 10 packets of hashish cleverly hidden inside cat food packages. The recovered contraband weighed 12 kilogrammes.

The arrested suspect was identified as Hazrat Bilal, son of Mir Syed, a resident of Bara, Khyber district.
