Jeep plunges into ravine in Shangla

The unpaved link roads of Shangla are increasingly turning into death traps. In a tragic incident in the remote hilly area of Bailey Baba Pagodi in Alpuri Tehsil, a speeding jeep lost control and plunged into a deep ravine. The accident was so severe that the vehicle was completely destroyed.

One passenger, Zahid Gul, died on the spot, while six others sustained serious injuries. Locals reported that the accident caused panic in the area, prompting people to rush to the scene to help.

According to Rescue 1122, an ambulance and medical team were immediately dispatched after receiving the report. Despite extremely difficult terrain, the rescue team successfully extricated the injured and provided first aid on site. The victims were later transported to DHQ Hospital, Alpuri, where some remain in critical condition.

The body of the deceased was handed over to the family after legal formalities.

In a separate incident in Masal Damori, Kana Tehsil, another jeep lost control on a link road and fell into a deep ravine. The vehicle was badly damaged, but all passengers escaped unharmed.
