USKT marks World Disability Day

SIALKOT:

The University of Sialkot (USKT) organised a special event to mark World Disability Day, emphasizing equal opportunities, accessibility and social inclusion for persons with disabilities.

The event was led by Dr Tanvir Ali Khan Shirwany, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences, and supervised by Dr Raveena Rajput, Head of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation. Faculty members Dr Maryam Afzal and Dr Shiza Zaidi also supported the programme.

Guest speaker Dr Abdul Hannan, Associate Professor and Head of Orthopedic Department, shared clinical insights on disability management and the importance of multidisciplinary care. Students performed a thought-provoking skit highlighting empathy and acceptance, while the Sundas Foundation encouraged blood donations and social responsibility.

Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Khaleequr Rahman stressed collective responsibility in empowering persons with disabilities and commended the organisers' efforts. The event concluded with the presentation of shields and certificates.
