KARACHI:

Authorities have decided to install modern scanning machines at Karachi Airport and other busy airports across the country.

According to sources, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), and the Airports Security Force (ASF) have completed a comprehensive survey for installing new scanning machines at major airports, including Karachi.

The installation of advanced scanning equipment will help ensure timely screening of passengers' luggage and significantly enhance airport security. The CAA, the PAA and the ASF have jointly accelerated work on the project.

Under the CAA's supervision, the PAA and the ASF will complete the target of installing the new scanning machines, which will improve passenger facilitation and ensure prompt baggage screening.

The project, worth billions of rupees, involves installing state-of-the-art scanning machines at airports in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, and other cities.

These modern systems are expected to play a key role in preventing all forms of smuggling through airports while further strengthening overall security measures. Sources added that the new scanning machines will be installed in accordance with international civil aviation standards.
