Ten Bar members elected unopposed

Three candidates, Malik Sajid Awan, Sardar Bilal, and Asad Raja, are contesting for the president's seat

RAWALPINDI:

Ten more members of the executive body have been elected unopposed in the annual elections of the District Bar Association Rawalpindi.

Earlier, Library Secretary Kashif Hussain and Auditor Muhammad Nazakat were also elected unopposed.

The newly elected unopposed executive body members include Huriya Saeed, Aleema Khalid, Nahid Nazir, Hasan Nawaz, Hanan Irfan, Syed Zainul Abideen, Faheem Zafar, Muhammad Rizwan, Mudassar Mahmood, and Wajahat Zohur.

Election Board Chairman Sajid Ilyas Bhatti said a projection meeting will be held today, Thursday, January 8, during which candidates for president, secretary, vice president, and joint secretary will present their manifestos. The election campaign will conclude today, while no campaigning will be allowed on Friday, January 9.

Polling will be held on Saturday, January 10, from 8am to 4pm without any break. Preparations for transparent polling have been completed.

Three candidates, Malik Sajid Awan, Sardar Bilal, and Asad Raja, are contesting for the president's seat. A tough contest is expected for the secretary's slot among five candidates, including Mehran Anwar, Ijaz Chaudhry, Shehnaz Begum, and Qamar Haq Niazi.
