Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has announced a new true crime television project, confirming he is developing a series titled Gang Wars in collaboration with A&E. The rapper and producer shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday evening, writing: “Gang Wars coming soon A&E I got some heat.”

Jackson also posted a screenshot of an article citing a report by Deadline, which said the series is being produced through G-Unit Film & Television in partnership with Citizen Jones, led by Jonah Bekhor and Jonas Bell Pasht.

According to Deadline, the project will examine America’s most well-known gang rivalries, offering access to accounts that have not previously been shared publicly. A release date has not yet been announced.

The announcement follows the December release of Sean Combs: The Reckoning, a four-part documentary executive produced by Jackson.

Directed by Alexandria Stapleton, the series streamed on Netflix and explored Combs’ career in the music industry, his rise to prominence, and the abuse allegations made by his former partner Cassie, which preceded additional accusations and a criminal trial that resulted in Combs’ imprisonment.

In response to the documentary, Combs issued a cease-and-desist letter to Netflix, threatening legal action and claiming the series used “stolen footage.”

In a statement previously provided to Rolling Stone, Janice Combs, Combs’ mother, said the documentary contained “inaccuracies” and was “intentionally done to mislead viewers and further harm our reputation.”

G-Unit Film & Television, founded by Jackson, has expanded its presence in unscripted programming in recent years. The company has supported projects including TikTok Star Murders and The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets for Peacock, as well as Hip Hop Homicides for WE TV.

Gang Wars marks Jackson’s latest collaboration with a major television network as he continues to develop crime-focused documentary content.
