KABUL: Afghanistan’s intelligence agency accused the Taliban’s leadership in Pakistan of orchestrating the assassination of former president Burhanuddin Rabbani, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.

The Afghan intelligence agency said that its investigation indicates the attack was organised by Taliban officials at the highest levels.

“The Quetta Shura is involved in this case,” said Shafiqullah Tahiri, spokesperson for Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security. The Quetta Shura is the Taliban’s highest leadership council, led by Mullah Mohammad Omar .

The Taliban on Thursday said media reports calling them responsible for the killing were “baseless and false.”

Now even afghans are saying openly against pakis. Looks like no one cares about pakis and their spy agency. Everyone and especially USA knows that Pakis cause terror attacks against all their neighbors and then beg for billions of dollars by saying that They are "helping" in war against terror. They do not want USA to leave and so they create all these terror attacks. PAkis are now surrounded by people who hate them. Is there one country that really stands with PAkis?? Even China is now agreeing to support India in getting permanent seat in UNSC. So are they really a paki friend? Look atworld terrorist list. Almost all have some paki connection
