Amanda Seyfried hilariously misunderstands Timothée Chalamet’s shoutout to Kylie Jenner in acceptance speech
Seyfried mixed up Chalamet’s Kylie Jenner reference during his Critics Choice Awards speech for his Best Actor win

Amanda Seyfried has revealed she briefly misunderstood a key moment from Timothée Chalamet’s acceptance speech at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards, admitting she thought his words referred to a charitable foundation rather than his relationship.
The Housemaid actress was reacting to Chalamet’s win for Best Actor, during which he thanked his “partner of three years” while looking at his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.
He concluded the speech by saying, “Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn't do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Seyfried, who was nominated for Best Actress for her role in The Testament of Ann Lee, later shared her confusion in the comments section of an Instagram post by Evan Ross Katz discussing the moment. “OH not like a foundation/charity,” the 40-year-old wrote. “I was curious about that.”
Her comment quickly drew attention online, adding a lighter note to the evening’s events.
Although Chalamet and Jenner have largely kept their relationship private, the speech represented his first public acknowledgement of their romance.
Seyfried’s candid comment ultimately added a relatable moment to an awards ceremony filled with speeches, celebrations and unexpected reactions.
