Cher sparked lighthearted conversation about relationships during her recent appearance on Armchair Expert, the podcast hosted by actor Dax Shepard.

The music icon joined Shepard and his wife, actress Kristen Bell, on the January 5 episode, where she openly joked about believing Bell “could do better” when it comes to her choice of partner.

During the episode, Shepard directly addressed Cher’s long-standing playful skepticism about their marriage, asking who she might consider a “dream partner” for Bell. While Cher did not suggest an alternative, she clarified her remarks by expressing trust in Bell’s judgment. “You must have something I don’t see,” Cher told Shepard, acknowledging that Bell clearly values qualities others may overlook.

Cher and Bell first met while working together on the 2010 musical film Burlesque, alongside Christina Aguilera and Stanley Tucci. Reflecting on that time, Cher said she quickly developed respect for Bell, describing their dynamic as “sympatico.” At the time, Bell and Shepard were already engaged. The couple later married in 2013 and share two daughters.

The conversation also highlighted mutual admiration between the trio. Shepard emphasized that he supports Bell’s success and is not threatened by her achievements, a sentiment Cher said she appreciates in her own partner. Bell echoed that perspective, describing such men as partners who help their significant others “shine more.”

The exchange ended on a warm note, with Cher praising Shepard’s parenting and Bell calling him an exceptional father. The episode showcased the couple’s humor and openness while reinforcing the strength of their long-running relationship.
