Cops summoned over 'fake encounter' killing
CCTV footage of arrest from home presented before court as shootout faces scrutiny

The alleged killing of a suspect in a 'fake encounter' in Rawalpindi has been challenged in court.
CCTV footage showing the arrest of Naeem alias Guddu from his home has been presented before the court.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Rawalpindi, Sahibzada Naqeeb Shehzad, has issued notices to the police officers and officials involved in the alleged killing of Naeem alias Guddu, who was reportedly arrested from his home and later killed in a supposed encounter on Chakwal Road.
The court has summoned the officers and sought their response on a petition seeking registration of a murder case against them.
The court accepted for hearing an application seeking registration of a murder case against CTD police officers. The petition was filed by the deceased's sister, Asia Bibi, who stated that her brother was arrested alive from his home in the presence of dozens of neighbours, and CCTV footage of the arrest has been submitted to the court.
She alleged that Inspector Sardar Asim and Inspector Mohsin Shah, along with 15 personnel, arrested her brother from their house and later killed him on Chakwal Road in a fake police encounter. The killing took place on November 30.
On court orders, Chakwal district police submitted a report claiming they had no knowledge of the incident and that no Chakwal police official was involved in the killing. The report stated that Chakwal police were neither informed about the incident nor had any role in it.
After reviewing the report, the court issued notices to the concerned police officers, including the inspectors seen in the footage, and summoned them to appear in court on January 7.
