RAWALPINDI:

Police have registered a case against three individuals, including a hotel owner, in the Pirwadhai police station area on charges of defrauding a resident woman under the pretext of marriage and subjecting her to alleged sexual assault and intimidation.

According to police, the complainant stated that she married Muhammad Rizwan in 2012. In February 2025, he allegedly issued her a written divorce and expelled her from the house with only the clothes she was wearing, leaving her homeless with her two daughters and a son. Subsequently, she took temporary residence in a room at Hasnat Hotel, Pirwadhai.

She complained that the hotel owner, Raees, and his brother-in-law, Adil — who was staying in an adjacent room — were fully aware of her circumstances. The complainant added that her former husband had paid her Rs510,000 as dower (haq mehr). She alleged that Raees and Adil repeatedly asked her to lend them this amount.

The complainant further alleged that Rs70,000 was stolen from her room, later discovering that the theft had been carried out on the instructions of Raees and Adil. When she repeatedly demanded the return of her money, Adil allegedly entered her room one night and forcibly assaulted her. She claimed that he later promised to marry her and forcibly took Rs400,000, which was never returned, nor was the stolen Rs70,000.

The victim further alleged that Adil continued to sexually assault her while threatening to kill her children if she reported the matter. Upon becoming pregnant, she said Adil continued to delay marriage on false assurances.
