Dove Cameron and Damiano David confirm engagement after 2-year relationship

Dove Cameron has announced her engagement to Damiano David, the lead singer of Italian rock band Måneskin, marking a new chapter in the couple’s two-year relationship.

The Disney Channel actor confirmed the news with an Instagram post showing her engagement ring as the pair looked at one another. She wrote, "My favourite part of being alive. Happy new year." The announcement followed months of speculation after Cameron was photographed wearing a large ring on her left hand while walking with David in Sydney last October.

The engagement comes shortly after the couple celebrated their second anniversary. Reflecting on their relationship in an earlier Instagram post, Cameron described the period as the best two years of her life, adding that her happiness had deepened since David entered it. David echoed the sentiment, describing their relationship as the best part of being alive.

Cameron and David first crossed paths at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, where both were nominated for Best New Artist. Cameron later recalled that they barely spoke at the time, despite sharing backstage space. Subsequent opportunities to connect were missed due to scheduling conflicts, including an invitation for Cameron to open for Måneskin on tour.

Their relationship began to take shape after they reconnected at the 2023 VMAs. David invited Cameron to visit the band at Madison Square Garden during their world tour, where their bond developed gradually. Cameron later described their initial conversations as slow and cautious, likening them to interviews before their connection became romantic.

The couple made their red carpet debut at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy gala in February 2024 and later attended the Met Gala together. Despite their public appearances, Cameron has said they value privacy and prefer quiet evenings at home, often spending time watching television together.
