Five of family injured in gas leak fire
Five members of a family, including a mother, daughter and two sons, were severely injured after a fire broke out in a house due to a gas leak in Faisalabad on Friday.
Police said the incident occurred in Chak 75 JB, within the jurisdiction of Thikriwala police station, where accumulated gas ignited and flames rapidly engulfed the house.
As a result, all family members present inside sustained serious burn injuries.
The injured were identified as Nabeel Sabri, 37, Abdullah, 17, Saadullah, 19, Noor Fatima, 50 and Rabia, 24.
Rescue 1122 personnel provided first aid at the scene and shifted the victims to the Burn Unit of Allied Hospital.
Doctors said Nabeel Sabri sustained 24% burns, Abdullah 19%, Saadullah 55%, while Noor Fatima and Rabia suffered 60% burns each.
The condition of three of the injured was stated to be critical.
Police reached the spot soon after the incident and launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
Meanwhile, police have registered cases against 22 suspects for threatening police officials and assaulting municipal employees in separate incidents reported in different areas of Faisalabad.
In the first incident, personnel of the Eagle Squad of Sargodha Road police station were on patrol near Malling Road, Hajweri Town, when they spotted suspects holding kites in violation of the ban.
