JIT raids suspect's home in Teefi Butt murder case
A joint investigation team (JIT) looking into the murder of Muhammad Javed Butt, brother-in-law of alleged underworld figure Khawaja Tareef "Teefi" Butt, raided the residence of Ameer Fateh, a key suspect in the killing, after his bail was cancelled.
According to law enforcement officials, the JIT raided the suspect's house in Rang Mahal after a session court annulled his bail, intensifying efforts to take him into custody.
However, the police found the house locked, indicating that Fateh and his family had fled, the sources said
No arrests were made from the premises, but three employees linked to the suspect were taken into custody for questioning regarding his whereabouts and involvement in the case.
The JIT has named Ameer Fateh and Ameer Musab as prime suspects of planning and carrying out the murder, based on evidence gathered during the investigation.
The team has also identified another suspect, Arif Bhatti, who remains a fugitive.
Background to the murder
Javed Butt had been shot dead last year by motorcyclists. His killing was linked to a long-running feud between rival gangs.
